Brewers Fans Getting Screwed

Jul 30, 2010 -- 7:14am

Congratulations to the Brewers fans. You have held up your end of the donkey. Great attendance numbers. As a result of your incredible support, the Brewers have given you two disappointing seasons since the playoff year. And they do nothing at the trading deadline. Brewers fans deserve much, much better given the support at the park. The numbers say that -08 was a fluke and absolutely no indication of a club improvement that would make them a yearly contender. Doug Melvin deserves another year, but I'll admit my defense is weak sauce to those who want a change now.

Brewers/Uecker Can't Lose

Jul 27, 2010 -- 7:14am

I was mocked on Extra Innings Sunday afternoon when I said the Brewers will sweep the Reds because they can't lose with Uecker behind the mike. Actually, I have been on the Uecker/Major League/Harry Doyle connection since Saturday. It's one of those things that makes no sense. Don't try and figure it  out. Just enjoy the ride. Two more over the Reds and Uecker must travel or do the game from a studio in Milwaukee. But he must do every game to keep the 'whatever this is' going.

I'm Still Alive?Brewers Are Not

Jul 23, 2010 -- 11:32am

Sorry, I have not held up my end of the donkey since my diet weigh-in. The season is over for the Brewers. I don't know what they are doing. They aren't playing for the future. They just seem to be acting like they are in the race, but they can't believe that. I would have fired Macha after leaving Bush in for so long. Bush had six consecutive quality starts. No way I'm going to allow him to give up so many runs. I don't care about the bullpen. It's the same thing with Wolf. I would not allow him to have the opportunity to give up so many runs even if he says it's ok. I'll ruin the bullpen before ever doing what he allowed to be done to Bush and Wolf. It's wrong to do the same thing to Parra, but he's got no future with me so it's not as big a deal.

Wesley Matthews Living The Dream

Jul 15, 2010 -- 11:28am

It's off the charts. Wesley Matthews couldn't get drafted last season. This season he's got a contract offer from Portland for 34 million over 5 years. He's going to get the money either from Portland or matched by Utah. It's what happens when Utah thinks you are good enough to guard Kobe Bryant in the playoffs.

Brewers Taking Offers For Fielder

Jul 14, 2010 -- 8:51am

Yes, the Brewers are taking offers for Fielder. The rumors should be hot and heavy until he is moved. The Brewers have no choice. The current mix of offensive talent/pitching has failed. The group was able to make the playoffs one season only because of an all world performance by CC Sabathia. There is talent so it's not a rebuilding job that means years of losing. It's more like reloading. Doug Melvin has had a terrible year, but he's not a terrible G.M. He needs to make some good moves so that the Brewers can be a contender next season. If not, then I'll consider the possibility that he's more of the problem than the answer.

Brewers Stink

Jul 12, 2010 -- 12:09pm

It's pathetic. The Brewers with their worst record at the All-Star break since 2003, and they've got three All Stars. Something is terribly wrong. Firing the manager is my choice, but it's not the only choice. I'm just saying that something must be done. This is so bad it's got an odor.
