GREEN BAY – Ryan Grant isn’t surprised by the New Orleans Saints’ bounty story, and while the Green Bay Packers free-agent running back didn’t necessarily think the Saints took any cheap shots at him or his Packers teammates in the teams’ Sept. 8 meeting, Grant suggested the Saints’ approach was a disrespect to the way the game should be played.

Appearing on ESPN Wisconsin’s Green & Gold Today Monday, Grant called the controversy, which has made headlines since the NFL announced the allegations two weeks ago.

Listen to Ryan Grant’s interview here.

“The bounties, I’m not surprised, honestly,” Grant said. “It’s unfortunate, but it is what it is. Not everybody is coaching from the right place, not everybody is playing from the right place. And that’s just the reality.”

Grant likened the Saints’ behavior to that of competitors in other businesses who might cheat the system or try to create an unfair advantage over competitors.

“Any circumstance, any business – if you look at the corporate world, not everybody is doing things the right way,” Grant said. “So it’s not surprising to me that there are particular teams going about that. It’s unfortunate, but we just make sure as offensive players that we’re protecting our guys. Because you never know what guys’ intentions are.”
