GREEN BAY – Aaron Rodgers made a cameo appearance at the Milwaukee Brewers’ Maryvale spring training complex in Phoenix on Wednesday, but the Green Bay Packers quarterback apparently will have a starring role in some commercials promoting the defending NL Central champions.
The NFL MVP visited with NL MVP Ryan Braun, his good friend whom he vociferously supported last week after Braun’s appeal on a 50-game suspension for violating Major League Baseball’s anti-performance enhancing drug policy. He also shagged a fly ball or two along with personal assistant Kevin Lanflisi and chatted with Brewers manager Ron Roenicke and outfielder Nyjer Morgan during his visit.
Rodgers declined multiple requests to speak with reporters, simply telling an Associated Press writer, "I had a lot of fun" during his visit.
Wearing jeans, a T-shirt, hat and sunglasses, Rodgers spent most of his visit watching batting practice and chatting with Braun. Asked if it was fun to have Rodgers visit, Braun replied, “Yes, it was.”
Rodgers took batting practice with the Brewers and visited Braun last season, when the Brewers reached the NL Championship Series.
