When it comes to TV shows, I have a few favorites. My favorite is Everybody Hates Chris. I really like that show. It’s pretty funny. I like Family Guy, too. I’m very much a comedy person, so I like stuff like that.
On my iPod, I’ve got everything. I like old music. Every game before I go out, I listen to James Brown. I’m into a lot of different music. J. Cole, Rick Ross, a lot of different stuff.
I really like Twitter. If you don’t follow me, I’m @slickwynn94. I like talking to the fans, and giving those people on the outside a look inside, so they can be closer to us. I like reaching out to them.
I’m not a real big movie guy. But I am a big fan of The Fast and the Furious movies. I like muscle cars. I’m not to that extreme, but I have a ‘72 Cutlass. I got it a little extra horsepower in it. It’s not really good for a child seat, though, so Little Jarius, he doesn’t ride in it.
What I went through Super Bowl week was one of the best feelings in the world. I didn’t know it was going to happen, but it did. We were eating dinner, my wife Martavia and me and some of our family, at a hibachi spot, and my wife’s water started to break. She was due two or three weeks after the Super Bowl. She went to the bathroom, and she was trying to play it off that I wouldn’t know, but I knew something was going on because she was back there for a while. She said she was OK, so I left, because it was time for me to check in for curfew.
The next thing I know, she calls and he water completely broke, so I get to the hotel and I tell (trainer) Pepper (Burruss) that my wife was going to have the baby, She went back to the (family) hotel, so we went to the hospital (together). We were there until the morning and little Jarius came along. It was one of the best feelings in the world. And then, it was time to play in the Super Bowl.
I had gotten not even an hour nap. I was definitely going off adrenaline. It was one of best feelings. I was extremely tired, but after the game, I made it to the team party for a little bit, then I went back to the hospital and then I slept there. He was a big baby, a ‘super’ baby, so we got to go home the next day.
I think there’s definitely a lesson to learn from my situation of being cut last year. I was young and I really didn’t know how to look at things. You have to go hard at every moment and cherish every moment because you can be there today and gone tomorrow. It really taught me a whole lot. Always give it your best and never look back. That’s one of the things I’m trying to do now – keep working hard to become great and never look back.
You want the worst job? Let me tell you, my dad is a brick mixer. He builds houses, and he had me out there at a young age, like 7. He had me out there making the mixture with him. He had me carrying bricks, toting wheelbarrows. I was like, ‘I never want to do this.’ That taught me a lot. He’s still doing it. It teaches you about hard work.
My favorite football team as a kid was the University of Georgia. I really didn’t have a pro football favorite. When I was growing up, there was one player I really liked: Reggie White. My little cousin, he was a big Green Bay fan, so I watched them one day and I fell in love with him. So I’m a huge fan of Reggie White. It was the year they went to the Super Bowl (1996). I was like, ‘Man, this guy is great.’ The way he played, it was so powerful. I try to mimic my game off of him. I just feel like he was naturally just so strong, and I feel like I have a little bit of that, too.
So I got to play for my favorite school and for the same team as my favorite player. All I can say is I’m just blessed to be in these situations. A lot of people don’t get to do what they love. I am just blessed.
My favorite moment as a Packer was a couple of weeks ago, sacking Jay Cutler twice. I know Packers fans hate the Bears, so I know how much that meant to them. And then also, getting that sack on Brett Favre. That was definitely one of the highlights. I know how much those sacks meant to the fans.
If I were NFL commissioner, I would stop fining people the way he does. I feel like there are going to be mistakes, but like the one on Eric Walden, he got fined $15,000. He wasn’t trying to take Jay Cutler out. That’s too much money to be fining a person.
I’m going to stop now before I get fined.
My closest friend on the team is definitely is B.J. Raji. We came in together, we do a lot of stuff together. He’s been there for me during times like when I got cut, as a person to talk to, a person to keep me motivated. I definitely see him as my best friend.
