GREEN BAY – If you’re headed to Sunday’s Packers-Vikings game intent on booing or cheering for Brett Favre during pregame introductions, you’re going to be disappointed. You’ll have to express your feelings for the ex-Packers and current Vikings quarterback some other way.
According Packers public relations director Jeff Blumb, visiting teams get to decide whether or not they want to be introduced individually or as a team in pregame introductions on the road.
According to Vikings public relations director Bob Hagan, Vikings coach Brad Childress would have the final say for the Vikings. Hagan said that so far this season, the Vikings have chosen to be introduced as a full team all year.
I talked to Vikings kicker Ryan Longwell Wednesday afternoon, and he said the Vikings have been eschewing individual introductions at home, too.
“We really feel we want to be a team, so we’re introduced as a team,” Longwell said. Might they change it up on Favre’s account, just to make things interesting Sunday? “We’re certainly not going to draw any extra attention to any of our guys, much less the main guy,” Longwell said with a chuckle.
Meanwhile, to address a few topics that have come up on The D-List and Homer this week, Hagan and Packers manager of corporate communications Aaron Popkey said they didn’t know where Favre’s wife, Deanna, will sit at Sunday’s game. It’s believed she’ll be sitting with friends in a private box, since she still has extensive ties to the area.
As for any additional security measures at the game, Popkey said via email, “Logistically and operationally, this game is being approached the same as any other regular-season game. As part of our normal operations, we have appropriate security measures in place for the home and visiting teams. Beyond the basics, our policy prohibits the discussion of security in any detail, for obvious reasons. To my knowledge, we have not received any special requests.”
Childress said the team probably wouldn’t take any added security measures as the

“We travel with security, and they do a great job down there. I don’t know if it will be any noisier than it usually is there. That bar gets going pretty good in that place anyway, but we’re kind of away from that. Do I need to keep an eye on any of you guys? Are you guys going to come down and take in some of the revelry?”
